Today and everyday…
I awoke this morning like I do most mornings here on the Farm, with a cat snuggled on my feet and Gracie, my lab, curled up on the Man’s pillow next to me. After I shuffled down the stairs, and put my coffee on to brew, I tended to the animals and filled the wood stoves. It wasn’t until I sat down at my laptop to read the news of the day that I was reminded that it was Valentine’s Day. I quickly made a mental note to pick up a card for the Man when I was out doing some errands later in the day. When I signed on to Facebook, I made sure to wish everyone a wonderful holiday, and when my friend Betsy responded, she added “Every day is Valentine’s Day when you are in love, isn’t it?” I don’t believe I have ever heard more truer words than that.
The Man and I tend to not overdo (or over think) this day, simply because every day that we share together truly is celebrated as though it was a holiday of love. First and foremost in our lives is the love that we share, and the commitment to make sure that every day each knows that he is adored by the other. Most are simple gestures, some more grand, but they are given freely and often, as they should be. At the end of the work day, I still feel butterflies of excitement when he arrives home, and I always meet him at the door with a warm hug and kiss. We spend our time together, always connected even if he is cooking me a meal, or I am building him a closet. We are one, and we give thanks and celebrate that we are together every day. Here at the Farm, it truly is Valentine’s Day…today and everyday…
That is a beautiful sentiment Rick and it truly is the way it should be. Happy Vanentine’s day to you both and may there be many more to come.

This is the best Valentine’s day I ever had…I come home from a long day at work and didn’t have time to pick up a card and flowers like I planned, and to late to make the special dinner I had planned, and I get to read this and he’s just as happy ordering a pizza. Rick is a treasure, and I’m blessed.
